Introduction of Boise Chinese Association
The Boise Chinese Association (BCA) was founded at Boise, Idaho in 1997. It is a non-profit organization and mainly serves local Chinese community. Nowadays, BCA, with over 400 registered members, becomes the largest and influential Chinese associations in Idaho. Given the majority of BCA comes from Micron technology, HP, and local University, BCA represents a group of young intellectuals with the important economical and social influences in Idaho. BCA’s annual events include the lunar New Year celebration, middle autumn gathering, dragon parade, and summer & autumn picnics.
BCA members have been actively involving in various social and community events and made a significant contribution in promoting culture diversity. Current standing committees of BCA are striving to establish a cohesive Chinese community, which will consolidate all the Chinese groups in Idaho. This united Chinese community is playing a very important role in American society; not only serving Chinese community but also be well acknowledged by the majority and other minorities in Idaho.
